At Second Harvest, Chubbs said, he will earn about $250,000 a year in base salary. The charity is the main source of food for over 550 nonprofit organizations in six local counties — Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Lake, Brevard and Volusia — distributing groceries and meals from manufacturers, retailers, farmers, restaurants, theme parks and community food drives. It runs a vast meal program for school-age kids in low-income neighborhoods, feeding them after school, on weekends and during the summer, and operates a commercial kitchen, culinary training program, catering service and — most recently — a food distribution training program.
