FORT MYERS, Fla. — A Fort Myers man was found guilty of robbing a Starbucks in Lee County in July 2021.
A jury found Dustin Daniel Phennicie, 42, guilty of robbery with a deadly weapon following a two-day trial.
On July 14, 2021, Phennicie walked into a Starbucks on Daniels Parkway and greeted people. He then asked for change and pulled out what appeared to be a knife. Phennicie demanded money while holding an employee at knifepoint. After he got the cash, he left the scene.
Lee County deputies found him at a nearby hotel. Phennicie was positively identified in the robbery and was taken into custody, according to the State Attorney’s Office.
Phennicie’s sentencing is scheduled for April 18.
